True North Photo Society Members:
Mission Statement:
True North Photo Society (TNPS) is an annual membership club that explores the many facets of photographic image making from analogue, alternative processes, to digital output. As a group TNPS meets six times a year to share portfolios, listen to lectures, participate in group outings and experiment with the varied photographic mediums. At least 2-3 times a year TNPS members have the option to participate in Oak Gallery events, city/county art events, and group exhibitions. We are a network of photographic creatives, amateur to professional, that support and nurture one another through the process of photography.
We are very excited to announce that True North Photo Society has a new home with Oak Gallery in Carlsbad, CA.
True North Photo Society (TNPS) resides under the umbrella of Oak Gallery. It is a membership based photographic group containing two types of membership. The 1st is for those that are members only of Oak Gallery at $125 annually. They are given online presence with 10-15 images including a statement, bio, and link to their website on the Oak Gallery site. Members are given the opportunity to show for a two-month period once a year along with a second TNPS member. Each may show 1-3 framed prints, depending on size, for a low per framed image fee along with a 20% commission to the gallery for works sold on the specified TNPS wall. Each member may have up to 5 matted prints in the TNPS print bin all year. These members are included in some of the social media postings for the gallery, are invited to participate in additional fairs and shows, and are asked to gallery sit 3 times a year. The 2nd type of membership is for those that are currently renting gallery wall space that wish to be a part of the True North Photo Society meetings, portfolio talks, and alternative process creation days, this is $60 annually. These members have their own set wall space and bin boxes along with a wide variety of amenities and is a separate entity. TNPS has upwards of 12 members and meets 6 times a calendar year to share and discuss current series of work as well as experiment in the alternative processes 3 times a year.
